Samples with no HAND WRITTEN collection information (time, intials, and date MM/DD/YY or MM/DD/YYYY) will be rejected.

Test Usage

The purpose of this test is to test the Neonate for
conditions that may cause Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn (HDN).

It may be requested by Blood Bank if Cord Blood
Testing Results are ambiguous.

Test Limitations

This test does not take the place of a Type and Screen, and
does not allow for red blood cell transfusions.

Additional Information

This test is equivalent to the cord blood testing, and may be
ordered if a cord blood was not collected.

If this test is ordered after a cord blood test was collected and run, it may be
considered a duplicate and credited unless specifically requested.
