Test Code LABMDONCOSCRNCYT OncoScreen FFPE/Cytology
Specimen and Container/Tube
Specimen Type: Tumor Tissue
Preferred Specimen: FFPE Slides or Cytology Smear
Other Acceptable Specimens: not applicable
Appropriate specimens should contain >20% tumor cells and enough total cells to produce adequate DNA yield (typically >50,000 total cells (FFPE) or >2000 total cells (cytology smear)). Specimens with less than 20% tumor cells may be tested at the discretion of the attending molecular pathologist.

Collection Instructions
Collect specimen per standard laboratory collection procedures.
Specimen Handling and Transport Instructions
UCM Onsite Instructions: Collect specimen per standard collection procedured and send to the laboratory immediately.
Clinical Indications
Targeted and rapid assay covering hotspot regions in 50 cancer associated genes for genomic profiling of solid tumor and hematological malignancy specimens to determine appropriate therapies. It also can be useful for diagnosis, prognosis, clinical trials selection and for translational research.

Additional Information
Detects hotspot regions in 50 genes that are commonly mutated in cancer: ABL1, AKT1, ALK, APC, ATM, BRAF, CDH1, CDKN2A, CSF1R, CTNNB1, EGFR, ERBB2, ERBB4, EZH2, FBXW7, FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3, FLT3, GNA11, GNAQ, GNAS, HNF1A, HRAS, IDH1, IDH2, JAK2, JAK3, KDR, KIT, KRAS, MET, MLH1, MPL, NOTCH1, NPM1, NRAS, PDGFRA, PIK3CA, PTEN, PTPN11, RB1, RET, SMAD4, SMARCB1, SMO, SRC, STK11, TP53, VHL. Will not detect mutations below the analytical sensitivity of the assay (5% variant allelic frequency).

Preferred Volume: >10 slides (FFPE), 1 slide (Cytology smear)
Minimum Volume: 10 slides (FFPE), 1 slide (Cytology Smear)
Unstained slides containing FFPE tissue are acceptable. At least 10 microtome sections of 5 micron thickness should be submitted for testing. One adequate cytology smear should be submitted for testing.
