Lesion (from genital, oral, ocular (eye), dermal (skin)), Tissue, Surface swab (newborn only), BAL

Viral transport medium.  Sterile container preferred for BAL

Rejection Criteria

Whole blood/unspun samples greater than 6 hours will be rejected.

Reference Values

No HSV (1 or 2) DNA detected

Test Limitations: Detection limit: 500 copies/mL
