Additional Information
Therapeutic concentrations of Ca-dobesilate, levodopa and phenazopyridine interfere with the assay. Radiopaque media containing organically bound iodine (e.g. Hexabrix) may cause false-high results. The administration of gelatin-based plasma replacements can lead to increased urine protein values. High homogentisic acid concentrations in urine samples lead to false results. Hemoglobin from hemolyzed red cells will interfere with the assay.
