Collection Instructions
- Identify desired puncture site and cleanse with alcohol.
- Position lancet firmly against puncture site. Puncture site is middle or ring finger. Dry with gauze.
- To activate the lancet, press the lancet firmly against the puncture site. Do not remove the device from the site until an audible click is heard. Dispose of lancet into sharps container after use.
- Massage the lanced finger gently until a drop of blood is formed. DO NOT press or squeeze the finger.
- Wipe the first drop of blood away.
- Apply a well-formed drop to the CoaguChek XS Pro Test Strip.

- When the POC INR is > 3.5, a sample must be collected into socium citrate blue top tube and send to the main laboratory for confirmation.
- Results should always be assessed in conjunction with patient's medical history, clinical examination and other findings.
