Clinical Indications
- Detection of Heinz bodies. Heinz bodies are particles of denatured hemoglobin that are usually attached to the cell membrane
- Screen for hemolysis due to drugs/toxins, enzyme deficiencies, thalassemias, and unstable hemoglobins.
