Clinical Indications
- Aid in the detection of the capsular polysaccharide antigens of Cryptococcus species complex (Cryptococcus neoformans and Cryptococcus gattii)
- Weakly encapsulated Cryptococcus strains can lead to false negative results.
- False positives can be caused by infections with Trichosporon and Rhodotorula sp.
