Eye and vaginal swabs are NOT acceptable. See Chlamydia/GC culture. Specimens on patients less
than 14 years old are NOT acceptable. For suspected sexual abuse, see Chlamydia culture
(test code CHLC) submitted on Viral transport media, GC culture screen (test code GCC) submitted on a transport swab.

Specimen Collection: Wipe cervix clean of vaginal secretions and mucus. Using a speculum with no lubricant, compress the cervix. Obtain exudate from endocervical glands. Use the collection swab labeled “APTIMA Unisex Swab Specimen Collection Kit for Endocervical and Urethral Swab Specimens”
