Specimen Source: Conjunctiva
Specimen Collection: Cleanse area around eye with mild detergent. Moisten swab with saline and roll over conjunctiva. Swab goes into viral transport media or sterile container.
Specimen Transport: < 2 hrs, no refrigeration.
 

Specimen Source: Corneal scraping
Specimen Collection: Specimen collected by opthalmologist using a sterile spatula to scrape ulcers and/or lesions. Scrapings are put into viral transport media or sterile container.
Specimen Transport: < 2 hrs, no refrigeration.
