Offsite Collection Instructions

1. Specimen should be collected in iced/cooled EDTA tubes.

2. Plasma tubes should be immediately places on ice after collection.

3. Using a refrigerated centrifuged, spin and aliquot immediately.

4. Aliquoted samples should be frozen at -20°C prior and during transportation.

5. If above criteria are not met, specimen will be rejected.

1. Specimen should be collected in iced/cooled EDTA tubes. 

2. Immediately place the tube on ice and send to Lab Service Center

3. Samples received after 2 hours will be rejected.

4. Samples received not on ice will be rejected.

Patients taking glucocorticoids may have suppressed levels of ACTH with an apparent high level of cortisol.
